Energizer
Have everyone scream their name and their favorite animal (to get them comfortable with screaming.) Then tell everyone to put your right hand out and count up to 10 as quickly as possible. Without stopping, go to the left hand, then to the right foot, then to the left foot, each limb counting up to 10. Every round of limbs, for example counting up to 10 on each hand and foot, move down to counting up to 9. Every fourth limb, move down a number. Scream each number, and you must say them very quickly.
Calm Down!
Sometimes the problem is not warming up, but the need to calm or "come down to reality" after a session of intensive material is given. Also, to get the full benefit of new material, some "introspective time" might be needed.
Have the learners lay their heads on their desks, lay on the floor, or get in a comfortable position. Then, have them reflect on what they have just learned. After about five minutes, say a key word or short phase and have them reflect on it for a couple of minutes. Repeat one or two more times then gather the group into a circle and have them share what they believe is the most important points of the concept and how they can best use it at their place of work.
Do You Like Your Neighbor?
Have everyone in the group sit down in a circle. Since you are leading you r start the game. Walk up to someone (anyone) and ask, “(Name of the person) do you like your neighbor?” The person you asked could either answer:
1. “Yes I like (Name of one person on their side) and (Name of the person on the other side), but I would really like to meet someone wearing jeans!
(The underlined part can be changed to anything they want: …from Colorado or …with brown eyes) (All the people wearing jeans, or whatever that person said, must then stand and find another seat. Last person standing asks another person.)
-or-
2. “No!” (When this happens everyone must standup and change seats. The new seat cannot be the one they sat next to. Last person standing asks another person.)
